WakeUp Deborah
“Mothers on their knees, Children on their Feet”
“Awake, awake, Deborah; awake, awake, utter a song: arise…” (Judges 5:12).
What is Wake up Deborah?
“Wake Up Deborah” is a movement of prayers whose aim is to awake thousand of intercessor, biological, foster or spiritual mothers of any denomination who are committed to pray 15 minutes every day for the Lord brings a never seen before spiritual awakening among the youth of the world.
15 daily minutes of prayer will make a difference for the eternity.
Our children need a big coverage of prayer. Nobody can pray for a child like their mothers do and that’s why this ministry exist: challenging mothers on deliver their mission as priests of their home.
Deborah/Parents Prayer focus on:
- a) Our children repentance;
- b) God’s restoration impacting lives of those who are in and out of the church;
- c) A missionary awakening initially of 50.000 young people committed on it as long as they live becoming a “Young people: Commitment Generation”. To become themselves missionaries on their school, on a different culture, as a pastors, tentmakers (those who take sustenance from the work of their hands) and/or as mission providers.
- d) A powerful revival in schools and colleges, places where young people spend most of their time and where they are involved with materialism and non-Christian messages.
How did Wake Up Deborah start?
“Wake Up Deborah” started in the heart of God. He touched Pastor Jeremias Pereira da Silva at the GCOWE ‘95 (Global Consultation On World Evangelization) on May 1995 at the Seoul’s Korean Center in Seoul, Korea. One of the highlights of that meeting was the consecration of 100.000 young people from all denominations of Korean Church to mission labor.
For this cause Pastor Jeremias and Pastor Marcelo Gualberto (National Director of Youth for Christ Brazil) imagined a similar movement on our country.
There was a consecration of Korean young people, a mention of gratitude to each mother who led prayers for the realization of this dream. So Pastor Jeremias and Pastor Marcelo started to challenge Brazilian mothers (and now fathers are also part of it) to intensely pray for a powerful missionary awakening.
Who is the project coordinator?
Wake Up Deborah ministry is coordinated by YFC – The Youth for Christ Brazil had created and now organize the Brazilian coordinators around the world.
Why this name?
Wake Up Deborah’s name comes from the book of Judges 5. On that text, Deborah says that village life was ceased; new gods were chosen “until I, Deborah, arose, arose a mother in Israel”. On Judges 5:7 she makes kind of a self-ministry when she declares with power and self-challenge: “Awake, awake, Deborah; awake, awake, utter a song: arise…”
This is the profile of intercessor mothers: outraged, attentive and not conformed parents for what happens with young people. They must be ready to pay the price spending daily time on their knees in order to keep that young people standing.
